Rebecca started her sports career by working on BT’s sponsorship of the 1999 Rugby World Cup. Delivering several major sports events for the brand led her to launch the Sports Industry Awards, the UK’s leading celebration of ‘suits and tracksuits’ in 2002 and led to Rebecca’s next venture, the award-winning ENS Sports PR, now the UK’s oldest, independent sports boutique. In 2013 Rebecca saw the influence technology was having on sports so launched the Sports Technology Awards alongside ENS. The Awards rapidly became the leading global celebration of tech-led innovation in the international sports industry and, having generated a variety of associated commercial initiatives, in 2018 Rebecca’s group of businesses consolidated as The STA Group. This spans the Sports Technology Awards, STA-AP (Asia Pacific), the StartUps, Sports TechTalks, industry insights and networking events as well as ENS. In addition to being STA Group’s CEO, Rebecca is a regular TV pundit about sports business, co-founder Women’s Sports Week and serves on the Advisory Board of Loughborough University’s Business School.
