Soccer Analyst ex EPL player

Steven Caldwell is a professional soccer player who enjoyed an 18 year career that stretched two continents. In a career that spanned over 400 games, his clubs include, Newcastle United, Sunderland, Burnley, Wigan Birmingham City and Toronto FC. His spent the vast majority of his career in the top two tiers of English football. In 2005 he succesfully achieved promotion to the English Premier League by winning the Championship with Sunderland AFC. His other major achievement was winning the Coca Cola Playoff final at Wembley Stadium with Burnley FC. The success of that victory meant that Burnley would play the following season in the Premier league, the first time they had been at the summit of English football in over three decades

Steven represented his country of birth, Scotland, earning twelve caps.

In 2013 he crossed the Atlantic to sign for Toronto FC of Major League Soccer. After almost two years of playing for and captaining TFC, he retired and assumed the role of Director of Business Operations for TFC’s parent company, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.

At the beginning of 2018 he left MLSE to concentrate on his broadcasting career as an analyst for TSN. In his role with TSN, Steven has worked on the English Premier League, Champions and Europa League and every match of the Fifa 2018 World Cup in Russia. He also is colour commentator for Major league Soccer and Canadian National Team matches. Alongside his television duties his work in the grassroots community of soccer takes him all over Canada. He is committed to seeing the game develop and improved from coast to coast in his adopted country.
